I’m 2 days tardy writing you my love. It’s December and you will eventually find out that life seems to run on mock speed during this month of the year.
The reality that you will be 2 in a short four months puts me in tears. I am thrilled for you to be growing, learning, and changing every single day- but it is still unbelievable that you are this grown up.
I watched your birth video Monday (your official 20 month birthday.) Wow. Just wow. What a day it was! I also watched your 1 month old birthday party video. Gigi made you a birthday cake and sang you “Happy Birthday”- you slept through the entire party! 😉
This past month you have expanded your vocabulary significantly. You say almost every word we say- you’re definitely listening and learning quickly. You now point to the TV or Christmas tree and say “On.” You say “shows” for your favorite developmental TV shows- but in all reality, the only thing you want to watch is rodeo. You can say “rodeo,” too.
You watched the NFR at Gigi and Granddad’s and you’re hooked. It was the cutest thing to see you so excited. We’re convinced you’re a true cowgirl at heart. I know Granddad is proud- I am too. I pray you always have a love for animals and a respect for the American cowboy. Your roots run deep with horses and cattle, and I pray that legacy never leaves your life.
You celebrated your 2nd Thanksgiving this year. You ate like a little champion- and you loved Gigi’s dressing! You played so hard with your cousins- Rainey, Dailey Rae, Kendall and Avery. You girls were so cute running all over Mimi’s house. Y’all played Hide n’ Seek and you did such a good job. At one point I found you and Dailey in Mimi’s storage room standing like little statues against the glass door behind the curtain. I cracked up when I found y’all! Pretty amazing for two, almost 2 year olds to be that quiet and find such a good spot. I couldn’t believe you were still going strong at 5pm. You finally went up to Gigi and said “night night.” You went right to sleep. You also had your Thanksgiving feast at school. Gigi brought her dressing and it was a HIT- all of your teachers and other parents kept coming up to her asking for the recipe.

Life can feel overwhelming when you're carrying the weight of shame, pain, and struggle. But there’s hope—and it starts with surrendering your story to God.
There was a time when I didn’t feel courageous at all. My life was filled with health battles, toxic relationships, and coping mechanisms that only left me feeling emptier. Every day felt heavy, and I believed I was too broken to be whole again. But then… BUT GOD.
God took my mess and turned it into a powerful message. If you’re in a place of struggle, I want you to know this: I understand, and I’m here for you.
